Hello & thankyou for visiting my page.
I am 59 years old & I have been a licensed Radio Amateur since 1989.
I am a retired truck driver due to being diagnosed with a terminal illness called
"Motor neurone disease" (MND) in July 2018, but im not letting it get me down.
I am doing things to keep myself busy, like holidays, Amateur radio & spending
more time with my family.
I was also a biker from being 11 years old, so that has been a massive part of my
life, but unfortunately I can't ride my lovely Suzuki VZR1800R any more & I had
to sell it. It also means that I now have to rely on friends to put together & install
my antenna's etc as I have very little strength in my arms & hands and this
will get worse as time goes on.
In October 2018 I decided to resurrect my radio hobby (after a 20 - 25 year break) to
help me pass the time. Im determined to work as many countries as possible
whilst I can, so if you hear me on any band please give me a call.
My station radio is a Yaesu FT-991 putting out upto 100w & my antenna's are........
1. HyEndFed (131ft) for 80, 60, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12 & 10m
2. HyEndFed wire antenna (51ft) for 80, 40, 20 & 10m
3. Dual band X300 vertical for 2mtrs and 70cms
4. Sirio 5060 vertical for 6mtrs
Im located in Burnley, approx 25 miles north from the city of Manchester UK.
My WAB is SD83
I am on EQSL, HRDLOG, HAMQTH, HAMLOG.EU, CLUBLOG & LOTW but I only
upload "confirmed" contacts from QRZ.com to the other sites above.
QRZ.COM is updated daily, but all of the others are only updated once at the
end of every month.
If you have a QSO with me please please confirm our contact on here or on one
of the other sites above. Thankyou
*** SWL reports are very welcome & I will always reply ***
Here is a picture of my little radio station, on the left is my FT-991 with my new
LDG200PROII ATU on top of it. Next to that is my Anysecu network radio, then
I have my MD100 microphone for the FT991 and a Kenwood MC60A microphone
that I use on my Anysecu. I am usually sat on Teamspeak Welcome channel
if you ever want to call me for a chat.
I use my 55" LDG OLED TV as my PC monitor and the tablet on my desk is
actually my mobile phone, it is a Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 10.5” with 4G.
I do have a normal mobile phone as well as the tablet won't fit in my pocket Hi.
Below are pictures of my antenna's.
