 I was first licensed as KG0IF in August of 1993 but only did a little on-air work.  I retired in 2017 after working for 10 years as an electronics design engineer and 30 years as a computer systems engineer on Midrange and Mainframe IBM systems and as a PC computer programmer and web designer. I got back into radio when I retired to have something to keep me busy and it certainly does.  I work mainly FT8 and really enjoy my time on the air.  I applied for and received the call sign KB0BT in October of 2018.

My rigs include an Icom IC-7300 and a Kenwood TS-590SG for HF work.  I have an Icom IC-V8000 and an Icom IC-T70a for VHF.  My main HF antenna is a Hy-Gain AV620 vertical for 20m through 6m and I have an MFJ 1796 Vertical 40/20/15/10m antenna that i reconfigured into a rotatable horizontal dipole which works very nicely for stateside contacts. For VHF, I use a Comet 2M vertical for the IC-V8000 and a Diamond 144/440 Mhz vertical for the IC-70a and they work well in my metro environment.
