I am a retired US Military veteran. (E-6 Technical Sergeant, TSgt), I served From Monday September 22, 1986, to Monday June 27, 2005. I am retired on disability. My first four-year enlistment was on the B-52G Stratofortress Bomber (Crew Chief), then after that I cross trained to F-15 Eagles, and became an Eaglekeeper, (Crew Chief). My assignments were Barksdale AFB in Bossier City LA. Then Eglin AFB in Fort Walton Beach FL. Then I went overseas for one year to NAS Keflavik Iceland. And then back to Eglin AF FL. I was transferred to Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls TX, did 2 years there, then transferred to Tyndall AFB in Panama City FL. Finally, I was transferred to Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque NM and worked support duties, then I retired in June 2005. And moved back home to Texas. I am a native of Kingsville TX. I grew up down there and went to High School. But after my tour in the USAF, I moved to central TX. Because all my family moved here while I was still serving in the military. I am skilled in Aircraft maintenance and Computer technology. I have been into amateur radio since Tuesday October 11,2016. And have had an interest in radios and frequency scanners for years. I got my technician license on Tuesday October 11, 2016. Then I got my general license upgrade on Monday August 31, 2020. And I got my Amateur Extra license upgrade on Tuesday September 14, 2021. After taking the Amateur Extra test on Saturday September 11, 2021. (On the 20th anniversary of 911). I operate "mostly" VHF and UHF analog modes. Simplex and repeaters, to include echolink. I used to do DMR and C4FM and some DSTAR. But not much lately. (Since mid 2022) About all I do with DMR is check into the Wednesday evening (CBRIDGE DMR-MARC) Lonestar talk group 3148 Texas statewide DMR Net at 7pm CST or 0000 Hrs. Zulu. I do operate on HF sometimes. My favorite HF band is Twenty Meters. My grid square is EM11gb. I plan to keep this call sign for life. No Vanity for me 73's.
