G4IVV

I was originally licensed with class B callsign G8MLY in 1976 and passed the morse test to obtain my full license G4IVV in 1979.

In the first few years I was mainly active on 2m SSB and RTTY (initially with an old Creed mechanical teleprinter and subsequently with my own software on a Nascom 2 in the early 1980s).

However, having made RF design and later mobile telecoms software my career, I drifted away from amateur radio.

Recently I rediscovered the hobby that was such a large part of my youth and I'm finally back on the air from April 2021 after a 30+ year gap.

I mainly operate low power from home or you may also find me out and about when I get chance to activate a SOTA summit.

I'm currently working on improving my CW QSO skills. So if we have met on air thank you for the QSO, its much appreciated!
