K4A

Amateur Radio Alliance Inc. proudly presents the special event station K4A, operating for 24 hours from 0000 UTC through 2359 UTC on May 11, 2026, celebrating 33 years of amateur radio service, friendship, and dedication to the amateur radio community worldwide.

This special activation commemorates the 33rd Anniversary of Amateur Radio Alliance Inc. (KP4ARA). Operators will be active on multiple amateur radio bands and modes promoting international goodwill, technical advancement, and amateur radio activity around the world while celebrating more than three decades of club history since 1993.

Amateur radio operators everywhere are invited to contact special event station K4A and join the celebration of 33 years of commitment to communications, public service, emergency preparedness, technical education, and international friendship through amateur radio.

A special commemorative plaque will be awarded to the operator with the highest verified score based on:
• Total valid QSOs with K4A
• Greatest number of bands worked
• Greatest number of operating modes worked

Duplicate contacts on the same band and same mode will not count toward the final score. Contacts made on different bands or different modes will count as separate valid QSOs.

Eligible modes may include SSB, CW, FT8, FT4, FM, RTTY, and other recognized amateur radio operating modes used during the event.

In the event of a tie, priority will be given to:

1. Greatest number of bands worked

2. Greatest number of modes worked

3. Earliest qualifying contact during the event period

All contacts are subject to log verification. The decisions of the event organizers will be final.

The plaque competition is open to amateur radio operators worldwide. The winner will be announced after final log review following the conclusion of the event.

All valid contacts made with K4A during the event period will also be eligible for a commemorative QSL/eQSL card honoring the club’s 33rd Anniversary celebration.

Winner Scoring System

The commemorative plaque winner will be determined using the following scoring system:

• 1 point for each valid QSO with K4A
• Additional credit will be given for each different amateur radio band worked
• Additional credit will be given for each different operating mode worked

Contacts made on the same band and same mode will be considered duplicate QSOs and will not count toward the final score. However, contacts made on a different band or using a different mode will count as separate valid contacts.

The operator achieving the highest combined verified score during the event period will be declared the winner of the K4A 33rd Anniversary Commemorative Plaque.
