Important QSL info:
Please note, I do not log DMR or any other internet digital contacts.
Are you in my log? Check Log Search here, its updated in real time, will also show if I have uploaded our QSO to LOTW & EQSL.
I prefer LOTW, EQSL, or Bureau
State side stations: SASE, please put you address on the return envelope. This is the way I send them out, NO SASE No card. Sorry but I dont collect them, I will be more than happy to send you one, if you need one under the above listed conditions.
DX Stations: Again prefer LOTW EQSL or Bureau however if you need a card, Direct is fine, Direct, SAE, Put your address on the return envelope, and $2.00 USD will be fine, it costs about $2.00 to send a card out to ya, again I have no trouble sending you a card, and if I need yours I will do the same. Thanks so much, and I am very happy to work ya.
I wont upload log to QRZ.

My shack includes 2 Yeasu FTDX 3000D radios, these radios are fantastic and you can find them for great prices on the used market.
Timewave Navigator sound card modem, dont need this with the FTDX3000D but it allows me to use Fldigi with FSK RTTY and has K1EL CW keyer built in, again dont need it with the FTDX3000D but I already had it so why not......
Tuner is a Palstar AT2K.
Amp is a QRO HF 2000 the only part of my shack that runs on the grid, everything else in on solar and batteries, including computer and monitors.
I have 3 TYT 9600 radios, one in the shack and the other 2 are in vehicles I own, all of them have the OpenGD 77 firmware on them, I also have a TYT 380 U/V with OpenGD 77 on it, great firmware for these radios make them outstanding DMR radios.
I also have 2 Radiodity DB 50 VHF/UHF full duplex radios, one in the shack and one in one of my vehicles.
Software: CQRlog, Fldigi, WSJTX, JS8CALL, Winlink.

My station is run 100% on solar and batteries, I have 6-100 watt solar panels and 6 deep cycle golf cart batteries 2 batteries are wired in series to give me 3-12 volt battery banks at 225 AH storage, this would be a total of 8100 AH, which will run everything I need including a refrigerator and freezer for days without sun. Only thing on grid power is the amplifier.

6-100 watt solar panels, and 2 VHF/UHF antennas and a Davis weather station.
Pannels are facing south at a 40 degree angle.

I also harvest rain water from the roof of the house, mostly for the garden, the well water kills everything, also for just in case we lose power, no power no water, the 3 things you need in a disaster are water, food, shelter, I have a 12 volt 45 psi water pump attached to this system, the water pump is powered through the solar system.
This COVID crap has taught me a valuable lesson.

My primary HF antenna is a 57 (17M) foot Zero Five ground mounted Vertical, This is used on 160M -20M I have 120-50 (15M) foot ground radials on it, works great, I have worked the world with this antenna. I will eventually put up a 20M-10M Optibeam for the upper bands.
120-50 ground radials
Guyed at 15ft, 35ft and 45ft.
A little breezy today...
4 inches in diameter at the base up to 3/4 of an inch at the top.
Currently using this Zero Five antenna for upper bands, but this will be replaced with a 10 element Optibeam in the very near future.

My 1993 Mustang GT that I built from the ground up, everything is new, I even installed a new wiring harness front to back.
Engine 347 stroker 450 HP
Tremec TKO 600 5 speed manual transmission
4:10 Detroit Truetrac posi rear end.

My latest project is a 2000 Mazda Miata, this car is fun to drive, will post pictures as the project moves along, my daughter is helping with this one, she actually drives it most of the time.

I sanded down the Miata did some body work then painted it in my garage, 3 coats of Black Cherry Metalic Pearl, 3 coats of clear then wet sanded it down and buffed it out replaced the front headlamps and installed LED marker lights.

My 1999 Ford Ranger 4X4, needed paint, I decided to Rapture line it, two tone, was a bit of work but it turned out so good I put a front and rear off road bumpers on it as well as new wheels and tires.

From time to time I go with a group to our state capital to lobby our representatives to pass legislation, mostly for our 2nd amendment rights, if you don’t get involved someone else will and you may not like the results.
Our lobbying efforts have gotten many good 2nd amendment bills passed, now in WV you don’t need a permit to carry a concealed firearm, and guns and ammo are tax free, there are many other bills we helped to get passed, those are simply the big ones, next will be campus carry, stay tuned..
