My name is Brad, I'm in Middle TN & just starting my amateur radio journey. I got my ticket 11/23/24 and currently hold a general class license. I'm a Sr Software Engineer by trade and like experimenting with all things tech related. Naturally amateur radio peaked my interest. Growing up in the 80's and early 90's I had a few handheld uniden scanners and was always interested in listening to what was going on around me and building (or mor accurately, taking apart) electronics and computers.  

Software I use; Custom built logging app and I still use Log4om, Omrig for rig control & FlDigi (sometimes), JTDX, WSJT-X, JS8Call & Gridtracker for FT8. I also use Pinpiont APRS with SoundModem, MMTTY for RTTY, CWTY for decoding CW (and helping learn), MiXWfor SSTV, and VaraAC & WinLink. 

I run a couple of Pi's as well; one running an ATAK server and the other running HamClock, Pi Weather Station and a websever that locally hosts a customized version of HamDashboard.

Radio's I use are; Yaesu FT-911a, soon to be a FT-710 and of course everyones favorite the trusty UV5R

I've been enjoying learning and experimenting with different antenna builds. I just built a nelson_antennas 9:1 EFHW @ 35ft using 71ft of sotabeams wire thats resonant on 80-10m, which works amazing. I also run a 49:1 EFHW @ 35ft using 65ft of wire thats resonant on 40/20/15/10m (and will work on WARC bands & 6m with tuner).
