Hello! I'm Brady, KY4CQ. I am originally from Knoxville, TN but now call east Alabama home. I am a nationally registered paramedic, and work for the Department of Defense as a DA civilian. I am a die hard Tennessee Vols fan! I am married to my beautiful XYL, Karoline N4KHF. I did 7 years in the Tennessee Army National Guard, and am now proudly serving in the Air Force Reserve as an aircraft mechanic on the Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker. I am a member of the ARRL. I enjoy HF SSB, especially on portable and QRP operations, and if you heard me on HF, I was probably portable. I am a ARRL and GLAARG certified VE, and participate in remote VE sessions. The joy in seeing the face of both new hams who pass, and current hams who sucessfully upgrade is absolutely amazing. POTA is my new addiction with the hobby. I am currently learning CW. If you hear me, work me, I'd love the contact, just keep in mind that I'm slow and still learning so mistakes are inevitable. I am an FAA-licensed private pilot, and if you're ever around the area, would love to take you flying. I first got licensed when I was a freshman in high school, around 2008 or so, took my general class exam about a year later, and finally after years of putting it off, upgraded to Amateur Extra in November of 2020. I also play around some with GMRS, WRKM219, and have my General Radiotelephone Operator's License (commerical radio license) with the ship radar endorsement, PG00069563. If I'm mobile you can always catch me on 146.520 MHz, and I have recently started playing around with APRS, so look for me on APRS.fi. Thanks for the QSO, and thank you for promoting the hobby. 73!
