I was first introduced into amateur radio by joining the Ham Radio Club at Mount St. Charles Academy in Woonsocket, Rhode Island in 1958. I obtained my novice license (KN1HXH) that year. We had four members including our sponsor Brother Ludger, s.c. After graduating from MSC, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Pensacola, Florida at a newly formed CT (R) school, "radioman." I served on several ships and bases in North Africa.
After my military service I was employed by the Southern New England Telephone Company as a lineman and after 30 years of service retired as a Project Manager. We are originally from Connecticut and moved to Florida in 1994. I was also employed by the Town of Jupiter, Florida as the Telecommunications Administrator for approximately five years. I retired for a second time in Y2K. We have been married for 54 years, and have two sons and four grandchildren.
GETTING BACK ON THE AIR
Went through some old attic boxes one day looking for fishing equipment and surprised to find my TEN-TEC Century 21 with the busted PTO. After some thought; and rebuilding a badly worn PTO, I decided to rekindle an old spark. With some study & testing, I reacquired my long expired amateur radio licenses. Realizing how much I missed the hobby, I became active again in early 2014. I joined several clubs and started enjoying ham radio again.

NCVA (# 6647 (U.S Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association)
FRUPAC (Fleet Radio Unit Pacific)
PSLARA (Port St. Lucie Amateur Radio Association)
JLRG (Jupiter Lighthouse Radio Group)
I currently hold three active Commercial FCC Licenses. The (GROL) General Radiotelephone Operators License [PG] - with ship radar endorsement, (T) Radio Telegraph Operators License [T] - with ship radar endorsement and the (GMDSS) Global Maritime Distress and Safety System [DM] - with ship radar endorsement.
I enjoy designing and building H.F. wire & stealth antennas, and like late evening C.W. QSO’s on 20, 30 and 40 Meters.
