Hello welcome my name is Glen I am your host for this page. Now I am going to tell you a little bit about me. I first got started in Radio when I was a kid. I started listening to shortwave with my grandfather’s home brew shortwave kit he made in WWII. (Yes I still have that very same radio) Now both of my grandfathers where big in CB's when CB radio was king. When I was little I caught the same bug for the CB radio. And after begging I was granted to get a CB license that call was KZZA-3001. Well that's where I stayed for a very long time. Till one of my best friends KC9IQR (Robert Ross) told me to give up the CB radio and go ham. Then in April 2006 I got my first call which was KC9JFC then it was KC9PMB and now it is W9GDV. I would like to thank the vanity call sign program and Earl Ross (1918-1994)(The former owner of this Call)
My ham radio style is very old fashion to many. I like use a paper logbook, send out real paper QSL cards, cross-reference received cards with my paper logbook. It's something both of my grandfathers both did, even when they were just SWL. I feel, me doing it this way, is a guarantee that the old way is not forgotten about and it pays homage to the ones that came before us. I know sappy, but I don't care.
Well here are some of My hobbies Collecting Real Paper QSL Cards, Talking on old chat rooms The CB Radio & Amateur Radio, Repairing & Collecting 1960's-1970's CB radios, Camping, Wrestling, Boxing, live bands and anything that Involves cars. That is just some of them. Oh, I forgot one Going to Drive-In movies I think that is one of the best ways to see a Movie. In addition, Television is a big waste of time. I believe you can learn a lot from radios. Everyone should listen to a shortwave radio. I like to say, “Listen to shortwave radio and hear the world”.
Remember QRP means lower electric bill. "LOL"
Well how was I as your host? I hope if you have any questions and tips for me. Please by all means e-mail me, find me on the radio or whatever it takes.
