First licensed in 1973 as WN4GBI, I am 46 years into this wonderful hobby. I have held the Amateur Extra Class license since 1982 and the FCC Lifetime General Radiotelephone license (previously the FCC First Class Radiotelephone license) since 1978. I am a a member and past president of the Radio Amateur Club of Knoxville (RACK), SouthEastern Repeater Association (SERA), and the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE). I am certified at the CBRE level through SBE. I am also a member of the Middle East Tennessee Emergency Radio Service (METERS) and a life member of Sevier County Emergency Radio Service/ R.A.C.E.S.  I am the Net Control Station for the Tuesday Morning (7:45 AM Eastern) session of the Tennessee Phone Net on 3.980 MHz. Please check in and say hello!

 All these repeaters are located in the Knoxville, TN area. All of my repeaters are open and hams are welcome to try them out when in the area. I have been an amateur repeater owner since 1981. Presently, I am employed as the Chief Engineer WUOT-FM, The University of Tennessee's NPR station.  Previously,  I was the Chief Engineer for the Cumulus Stations in Knoxville (WIVK/WNML/WOKI). I still serve as their backup engineer.  I am also the Engineer for  WJBZ-FM, WLAF-AM, WLIK-AM, WCLC AM/FM, and WGSN-FM  in the Knoxville area. I am also the Chief Engineer and Technical Director of the Vol Radio Network, which broadcasts the University of Tennessee football, basketball, and baseball games.
