Welcome & 73!
Thank you for visiting my page and for the QSO. I'm Basil, operating from Diyar Al Muharraq, Bahrain (grid LL56, CQ 21, ITU 39), on the air since April 2025.
What drew me to amateur radio is the meeting point of science, technology and people — a signal leaving my antenna can reach someone on the other side of the world, and every contact can start a conversation and a new friendship.
On the air
- HF (40–10 m): my focus is SSB voice — a real chat, not just a signal report. When conditions are weak I switch to FT8.
- 2 m: FM, digital voice and SSB.
- 70 cm: D-STAR, DMR and System Fusion (C4FM), keeping in touch with friends across the Gulf.
- Special interests: APRS, LoRa, SDR, networked station control and station automation.
My station
- Base, HF / 6 m: Yaesu FTDX10 (hybrid SDR, remote over LAN)
- Mobile, 2 m / 70 cm: Yaesu FTM-510DR (FM, C4FM, APRS)
- Handheld, 2 m / 70 cm: Icom ID-52 (D-STAR)
QSL
I confirm every QSO — choose whichever way suits you: LoTW, Club Log (OQRS), QRZ Logbook or eQSL. Paper QSL via my manager EC6DX (José Antonio Senent, Menorca, Spain) — see his QRZ page for direct and bureau instructions.

Find me on
Away from the radio I love hiking and camping, often with a light radio for some field operating. I keep learning and experimenting, and I am happy to help newcomers the way others generously helped me — special thanks to my mentor A92AA, Fawaz.
Hope to hear you on the bands. 73 de A92BM
