G1PET

Hello, I’m Pete, G1PET, from South Benfleet in Essex, England.

I previously held the callsign G7LGW and appear in the 1998 RSGB Callbook. After roughly 28 years away from amateur radio, I returned to the hobby in 2026 with my new callsign, G1PET.

I’m very rusty and still relearning everything, so please bear with me if I occasionally get something wrong!

I’m currently using a Yaesu FTX-1 and particularly enjoy portable HF operation, experimenting with antennas and discovering Parks on the Air (POTA). I can normally be found using SSB and FT8 on the HF bands.

Thanks to everyone who has helped and encouraged me since returning to the hobby.

73,
Pete
