Header: The Massachusetts Maritime Academy training ship, USTS Kennedy, returns from Puerto Rico after supporting hurricane relief efforts in the fall of 2017. K1GEA Photo.
Licensed in 2015 after being hooked by the high- pace operation of Field Day, I passed Tech and General in one shot, and was on the air within an hour of the test- activating an Dyer Island in Narragansett Bay. Initially assigned the sequential call KC1EFE, I applied for and received my grandfather's call, K1GEA. I am an active member of the Newport County Radio Club, W1SYE, as well as an avid sailor and a graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
