I rekindled my interest in radio communications in 2025. I had previously been on the CB radio frequencies as a teenager back in the late 1990s.

Foundation Exam passed in Summer of 2025. It has opened up a new World of radio communications!-)

At the moment I am mostly on the 2m band and occasionally 70cm.

I have no plans to expand to other bands at this point in time as I am more than happy to enjoy the wonderful QSOs I have with people locally and nationally both simplex and through the use of the excellent repeater network.

I am frequently taking part on nets for the local amateur radio clubs CDARC (Cambridge) and BSEARS (Bury St Edmunds).

Also met some really nice people through club meets.  I am a member of Bury St Edmunds Amateur Radio Society.

I'm just as happy taking a walk with a portable radio and talking to people via the local repeater GB3EA as I am transmitting from my QTH on my home rig.

Where I live is slightly below sea level so it's always a challenge to get a long distance DX.

I love building my own antennas and experimenting. I find it most enjoyable to have a clear long distance QSO on relatively low power using something I have built myself-)
