Hi friends!
All QSL’s to XU7ADI, HS0ZFI, 9M6/SM5GMZ, 9M8/SM5GMZ and 6V7F should be sent to my homecall. The same applies with QSLs to SK5A as I'm the QSL Manager for the Swedish DX and Contest Club Lake Malaren DX Group. Directly or via the bureau doesn't matter - I will reply to all cards. Still, using LoTW is a great idea as we all save money and any confirmation is instant. As it would be impossible for me to upbring the costs for sending QSLs to everyone I have worked, I will only QSL those who QSL me. If you send the card(s) to me directly, make sure that you include a SASE and sufficient postage. And, as said above, PLEASE use LoTW and eQSL as a first choice - I have uploaded more than 50 000 QSOs made during my Asian and African assignments, so if we made it through the QRM...you are in the log!
SOME PERSONAL FACTS:
I have been a ham since the beginning of the 70’s and still enjoy the fact that I have the best hobby of them all. After studies at the University of Stockholm, the Swedish Institute of Film and Berghs School of Communications, I have been working as a journalist for more than 40 years, mostly for magazines and newspapers but also for the commercial radio. In 1996 I wanted to change path and today I work as a full-time photojournalist, even though I am semi-retired. Between 2005 and 2009 I worked for New York based World Picture News (WpN), stationed in Cambodia and other countries in S/E Asia. Unfortunately WpN didn't survive the economic turmoil in late 2008 and today I'm a contracted contributor to Scanpix Sweden Ltd (AP, AFP and Reuters). A wide range of Swedish and international newspapers and magazines are other image buyers. In September 2010 I released the photo book The Dump at the Gothenburg Book Fair, a 120 page coffee table book with a large number of Black and White pictures showing what happens when large parts of the global aid doesn't reach the ones it was intended for - the children of Cambodia. In 2011 I released my second book called Ryd. This is truly a photo book with high quality artistic B/W pictures from one of Sweden's last graveyards for old cars and an amazing history around this fantastic place in southern Sweden. I have also, as a team member of the DX-pedition to Agalega & Saint Brandon, published a book called 3B7C about this very successful operation. It is a 111-page book in English, with a large number of professional photographs in full color, and it is available both in print (hard cover) as well as in the e-book format. Find out more at Amazon.com if you are interested.
As of today, in spring 2023, I'm currently writing on two novels which will be out on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and a wide range of book retailers later this year. One is a pure non-fiction book while the other is a crime novel. Finally, I am also involved in our local club - SK5AA - serving a two-year appointment as Vice President. The club is one of Sweden's oldest and was founded as early as 1943, which means that we celebrate 80 years in 2023.On the bands you will also find me behind the call SG5Z for digital modes and SM5X in contests, both on CW and Phone.
Stay safe everyone!
Pete
NOTE:
I have run out of QSLs for XU7ADI and will not be ordering any new cards. Since I only get a few requests per
year regarding this call, I don't want to fill up my life with thousands of cards gathering dust. However, I have
uploaded every single QSO to LoTW, eQSL and Club Log.
