My main mode of operation is AM, although I have a nice collection of bugs and keys against the time I properly learn CW!
Most of my rigs do SSB as well, of the phasing sort. In fact, only the Multi Elmac AF68 and the Johnson do real class C AM - and neither of them work at present..
My main setup is a Hallocrafters HT-44 transmitter, a Hallicrafters SX-117 receiver and a Johnson Thunderbolt amplifier into an MFJ roller tuner and a 102 foot doublet. This is monitored on a Heathkit SB series monitor (the power supply is a Heathkit HP23C which I set up for the Hallicrafters.). Second row is a Hammarlund HX-50 and an HQ-180, third are a Swan 500C and VFO410A, Swan 250 (on 6 metres) a Swan 2m transverter and Swan power supplies. I am building another twin 4-400A amplifier with a proper locally made transformer by Flanagan's Transformers at Wetherill Park. The shack receiver is a Hallicrafters SX-71 and an SX-122.
On the desk is a Uniden (Tempo)2020, and an NEC CQ-110E each of which work nicely and are good examples of older hybrids. In teh workshop I have the faithful ICOM 751 and a TS-820S and a Dentron tuner through a 6BTV.
I have a small online and occasional business called Ham Radio House. Check it out. It will be a bit more extensive when I hang up my working boots I hope...
I have a second shack under construction on the Central Coast of NSW which will have the Hallcrafters SR-150, and SR-500 Tornado, a Drake 2B, the Multi Elmac AF68 and a PMR-8 receiver - plus a bunch of others that I can finally get of fthe shelf at home. A 62 set for fun...
