I have always had an interest in communications from being very young and can remember being fasinated by the glow of the valves in my parents Phillips radio tuning in to the different stations across the dial and a little later on wanting to be a telephone engineer when I grew up.  

That interest with communications ever left me and when I was 14 one of my friends at school introduced me to amateur radio and I very quickly became a SWL listening to broadcast stations at first untill I finaly aquired my first CW/SSB receiver which is still in regular use on the desk in my shack nearly 35 years later.

I finaly got my novice licence in 2002 upgrading to intermediate in 2005 and now I am proud to have my full licence.

I mainly work HF digimodes and SSB but can occasionaly be found on a hilltop working HF/VHF/UHF portable when time allows. I build all of my own antennas as there is nothing quite like getting that dx contact with something that you have bult yourself.
