QSL: I usually confirm after going QRT – via LoTW and QRZ.com.
Hello and welcome.
I operate from the small South Bohemian village of Mokrý Lom, about 150 km (93 miles) south of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. It’s a quiet little place with fewer than one hundred residents, surrounded by forests, meadows, and the simple beauty of nature at the foothills of the Gratzen Mountains.
My QTH is on the western edge of the village – from my garden gate I step directly into the woods. Life here moves slowly, the air is fresh, the people are kind, and thanks to the open countryside, man-made noise is minimal. All of this creates a pleasant atmosphere and nice conditions for DX hunting.
The heart of my station consists of:
- Transceiver: Yaesu FTDX101D
- Amplifier: ACOM 1200S
- Antenna: Momobeam Tetra 18 mounted at about 22 m (72 ft)
- Rotor: Yaesu G-2800DXC controlled by ARCO from microHAM
In addition, I use a variety of homebrew equipment developed in my small workshop. I enjoy experimenting with antennas and building my own HF transceivers and their components. I prefer designs without integrated circuits, working mostly with classic THT components – that’s where I find the real joy of homebrewing.
When I’m not on the air, I enjoy the calm of my small lab – at the bench with my soldering iron and oscilloscope. And when I do get on the bands, I go with my mood: sometimes SSB, sometimes digital modes. But what brings me the greatest joy are those moments when a distant DX signal emerges from the noise.
Thanks for stopping by – see you on the bands, 73 and good DX!
