13.7.2024 Scout Camp of Black Storks

Saturday, July 13th, 2024 we will be QRV from a scout camp of 8th scout troop of Black Storks from Kosice, Slovakia (https://www.68zbor.sk/) between 11:30-14:30 UTC. Our grid will be KN08DT

We hope to be active on passing hamradio satellites as well. We are looking to hear from you on the bands!

21.10.2023 JOTA-JOTI 2023

JOTA-JOTI 2023 was the first activation of OM8JOTA special callsign. We have been QRV between 11:30-14:30 UTC

The group of 10 young scouts from the 1st scout troop of Dzive Labute (Wild Swans) from Kosice - Nad Jazerom, Slovakia (https://www.facebook.com/DziveLabute) got in touch with hamradio experience for the first time. They got familiar ITU prefixes, callsign structure, a QSO scheme and phonetic alphabet and then they have been trying to make contacts on HF and VHF frequencies. At the end of the day we have seen tired and happy young faces, being grateful for this new experience. Some of them expressed a wish to have another follow-up and get deeper into hamradio.
