QSL via:
I began as a CB radio operator in 1982-1990 while I lived in Orillia, Ontario in 1984 I joined the Transcanada Radio Club and was assigned my number of 6336, I was known as The North Star Base and licensed as XM4718134 until April 1990 when licenses were no longer required in Canada and all hell broke loose. I decided to become an amateur radio operator in 1992 and on March 30th the same month I made contact with Space Shuttle Atlantis Payload Specialist Dirk Frimout callsign ON1AFD, using a 5 watt VHF portable with my first call sign of VE3LAB, I was hooked every since. I started out as a radio broadcaster from 1985 at CKAT Country and CFCH All Hit Radio after 1 year I moved to Toronto later Hamilton then Ottawa and while in Ottawa I got into digital modes on VHF and UHF. Then I moved to Calgary, Vancouver and then Terrace B.C. where I worked as a senior service technician during the week and on weekends I worked as a radio personality on EZ Rock and CJFW Todays Best Country. I left both jobs later and went over to Classic Rock CFNR in the same town. Later I moved to Edmonton then Calgary again and then back to my hometown to retire. These days I can be found on HF on FT8 or AM/FM/SSB or on our local repeaters on VHF. My HF radio is an ICOM 756 Pro with an antenna known as the SE HF-360 SIGMA EUROCOM HF VERTICAL FIBRE GLASS ANTENNA it covers 6-160 meters, I also use a MFJ-1778 the same as the G5RV, WIRE ANTENNA. My other radios are Motorola P25 and Alinco DMR portables. I guess you could say the radio bug bit me a log time ago and still has a hold on me. Thanks for the contact. 73 de VA3LBX Larry.
